STRAUD
======

You do NOT need Python installed. Everything is in this folder.

QUICK START
-----------
Open a terminal in this folder and run:

    ./straud audit examples/example_trades.csv --column net_return --trials 40

On Windows:

    straud.exe audit examples\example_trades.csv --column net_return --trials 40

FIRST RUN IS SLOW — THIS IS NORMAL, AND ONLY HAPPENS ONCE
---------------------------------------------------------
Expect 15 seconds to about a minute the first time. Every run after that
takes under a second.

Why: this folder contains around 140 code libraries, and macOS and Windows
verify each one the first time an unrecognised program runs. The result is
cached, so the delay does not repeat.

macOS may also warn that the developer cannot be verified. Straud is not
code-signed yet. To check you received it intact, verify the archive you
DOWNLOADED, before extracting it, against SHA256SUMS.txt -- published beside
the download rather than inside it:

    shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS.txt

WHAT STRAUD IS
--------------
A statistical tool that examines the evidence behind a trading strategy and
reports where it is weak.

It is NOT investment advice, and it never tells you what to trade. Its best
verdict, "Survives", means only that a strategy passed the tests that were
run — every report also lists what was not tested, and that list is part of
the result.

You are responsible for your own trading decisions.
